THE TOASTER
On New Year’s Eve 1998, 3 people decided to get the image of a Toaster famous. They put it on stickers and posters and started pasting it up in cities around Britain. They then used stencils and worked their way across Europe and the World. What they were doing would later become known as ‘Street Art’. They continued to paint it on flags in football stadiums, at music festivals and eventually on art gallery and museum walls. 22 years later, 1 of the original 3 now carries the ‘Toaster’ project forward. Painting and pasting the image as a single Toaster or in more abstracted forms.
